1) You want to make sure your profile is complete:

The more you information you have potential sponsors will consider you more than the person who has not as much information as you, so the better display of your resume the better chance you will have to achieve more sponsors. ETC more information regarding your results, more pictures displaying your capabilities the better.
2) Cover Letter:
Make sure your cover letter is clean and professional looking i have talked with potential Sponsor that have said they have received letters on napkins written in chicken scratch (literally) there response was no sponsorship so why would a potential sponsor consider the person if the time and effort is not taken to prepare the letter and resume. Make sure to state why your are sending a resume etc. i would like to represent your company proudly on and off the field, your product i utilize to obtain my current status and my future goals.
3) Results:
Always keep in touch with your sponsors, let them know any results from any competition you are in. Either by email or mail (pictures and results) Sponsors want to make sure you are doing well and dis playing there logos proudly. Also you may be eligible for further products/money etc.
4) Very Important:

Sponsorship is a business, the competitor receives discounts the sponsor receives advertising. So remember one important fact about a sponsorship, you are now representing an advertiser so it is very important you conduct your self in the best manner on and off the field

The truth is you don’t have to win every competion, to get sponsored not everyone started at the top, it certainly helps but is not necessary. Sponsors want there product/logos displayed and without sponsorship this would not happen and the sponsor would not have any name reqognition.
